After her surprising acquittal on murder charges, Casey Anthony could walk free on Thursday for the first time in three years. While she faces a year in prison for each of the four misdemeanor counts of lying to law enforcement of which she was convicted, her lawyer will seek a sentence for time served and her release. Anthony’s plans, should she be released, are unclear. She faces concerns about her safety; she is unlikely to be received by her parents, whom she charged with abuse during the trial; and she is a high-school dropout with limited work experience.
