As the season climaxed gloriously last night for Tar Heel nation, it's home base, Chapel Hill, erupted following UNC's trouncing of Michigan State. Public celebrations left 26 injured—10 severely enough to be hospitalized—after thousands of elated Tar Heel fans rushed the streets, many to hang from street signs and leap through bonfires, the AP reports. Police say two fans were arrested for property damage. One can only imagine what post-apocalyptic Detroit would have looked like if the hometown Spartans had won.
