Cate Blanchett has opened up about the “bad feeling” she got from disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, saying she “wouldn’t do what he was asking me to do.” In an interview with Variety, the actress, who worked with Weinstein in multiple films, declined to get into details on her encounters with him. But when asked if he ever sexually harassed her or behaved inappropriately, she said, “With me, yes. I think he really primarily preyed, like most predators, on the vulnerable. I mean I got a bad feeling from him… He would often say to me, ‘We’re not friends.’” Dozens of women who worked with Weinstein have come forward with allegations of sexual harassment or abuse since the first accusations rocked Hollywood last fall. Weinstein, who has denied all the allegations, is currently under investigation in multiple U.S. cities and in London. While Blanchett stopped short of leveling any specific accusations against the producer, she said she hopes he faces trial for his alleged crimes.
