How do you explain writing this conference off to your boss? The Catholic church recently held a conference for exorcism training, part of the church’s increased battle against demonic spirits. The reason for the training? Demonic possession, or at least people claiming to be possessed by demons, is said to be on the rise, and church officials say they are devoting even more efforts to be prepared. “We only have a small number of priests who have any training in this area… every diocese should really have its own resources,” said Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki of the Springfield, Illinois, Diocese. Paprocki organized the two-day, closed-door training session this past weekend in Baltimore, which was attended by around 50 priests and 60 bishops.
