A group of investors was undeterred by the hanging death of the girlfriend of Medicis CEO Jonah Shacknai. They bought the historic mansion where Rebecca Zahau was found and plan to remodel and resell it. Zahau was found hanging nude from a second-story balcony this summer. The San Diego Medical Examiner’s office and the sheriff’s department ruled the death a suicide, but Zahau’s family rejected the finding and hired an attorney and a private forensic pathologist. They exhumed the body and performed a second autopsy, the results of which will be revealed on “Dr. Phil.”
