Chicago hip-hop artist Chance The Rapper is one of Kanye's favorite people. The energetic rapper is best known for his self-released album Acid Rap and his work with Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment. Originally from West Chatham on the South Side, Chance is passionate about more than just his music – in 2014 he was presented with Chicago's Outstanding Youth of the Year award and in 2015 he helped raise $100,000 for the Get Schooled program. Earlier this month the independent musician released his third solo full-length record, Coloring Book. The album’s 14 tracks feature 20 guest artists ranging from the Chicago Children’s Choir (on "All We Got") to Future (on "Smoke Break") to Justin Bieber (on "Juke Jam").
On May 15 Chance hopped on Reddit's HipHopHeads forum for an AMA and Coloring Book listening party. 5,219 people tuned in to hear what the artist had to say.
He answered questions about his favorite track to record (hint: it was "How Great").
Redditors asked about the struggle of not signing with a record company.
The artist kept posting in his own thread—writing lyrics or new ideas he’s considered.
Some ventured away from Coloring Book and asked the hard hitting questions.
Most importantly he answered the question everyone was dying to know.
At the end, everyone played "No Problem" one more time.
Coloring Book is available on Apple Music.
