At least 12 attendees at a Lil Wayne concert in Atlanta sustained minor injuries Sunday night, after one concertgoer yelled about gunshots and sent the crowd into a panicked frenzy. CNN reports that the gunshot warning, announced only a few songs into the rapper’s set, caused attendees to sprint away from the venue. As a result, some sprained their ankles or cut themselves while jumping a fence. Police responded and cleared out the venue, but did not find any evidence that a gun had actually been fired. A3C Festival and Conference, the organization behind Lil Wayne’s concert, issued a statement on Instagram about the altercation, writing that “We are still collecting information to determine exactly what happened and will provide follow up information as soon as we know more details. Please be assured that the law enforcement officers present have confirmed that there were no weapons involved.” Weezy also tweeted his own message of support, writing, “Hope everyone at A3C is safe!!” followed by a prayer emoji.
