A Minnesota man is being credited with saving nearly 20 children after their school bus driver suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Monday. Ebro Ahmed, 27, was standing outside a convenience store when he noticed a passing school bus with its door wide open. Looking inside, Ahmed saw that the driver was having what appeared to be a seizure, he told ABC News. Ahmed sprinted toward the bus, jumped inside and pulled the emergency brake. “Even if I were to die, it would still be worth it,” he said. Surveillance video released by the store, Ya Bricks Snacks and Tobacco, captured the scene. According to Ahmed, some kids were screaming while others stayed calm. In the chaos, he threw his phone and glasses to a girl at the front to hold. McDreamy also got some unexpected credit, with Ahmed saying Grey’s Anatomy helped him stay calm under pressure. Saint Paul Public Schools said paramedics responded and reported no injuries. In a Wednesday update, St. Paul Public Schools said that the bus driver has been released from the hospital and is resting at home, KSTP reported.

Mystery of Ancient Sarcophagus at Iconic Landmark Finally Solved

The mystery surrounding what was found inside a Roman sarcophagus has been revealed.

Dean & Chapter of Westminster

An archeologist says he has finally identified the skeleton found inside a Roman sarcophagus in the grounds of Westminster Abbey. The limestone coffin was registered to a wealthy man called Valerius Amandinus, the Guardian reports. Researchers first discovered it in 1820 and officially excavated it in 1869. Records suggested the bones had been lost, but when researchers removed the lid in a lab during a 2018 investigation, they found the skeleton still inside. Radiocarbon dating puts the remains in the late 10th or early 11th century. Prof. Warwick Rodwell, a consultant archeologist, writes in the Journal of the British archeological Association at the Abbey that he believes the man was likely a medieval abbot. According to Britannica, a medieval abbot was the head of a monastery, or abbey, in Western Europe, with authority over both its religious life and its practical affairs. A clue was carved into the reused lid: a large Anglo-Saxon cross. “Nobody of lower rank would have been buried in anything like that,” Rodwell said. He names two candidates, Ælfwig and Wulfnoth, and favors Ælfwig, who died around 1020 after about 27 years as abbot.

If you (or your partner) snore at night, you know how disruptive it can be to getting a good night’s sleep. While plenty of over-the-counter remedies promise to silence snoring, from nasal strips to specialty pillows, anti-snoring mouthguards can be an effective, drug-free option for certain types of snoring. These devices work by gently positioning the lower jaw forward to help keep the upper airway open during sleep, reducing the vibrations that cause snoring in the first place.

GoodSleepCo’s Hushd Avera Anti-Snoring Mouthpiece is a doctor-designed, adjustable mouthguard with two settings, allowing users to find a more personalized balance of comfort and support. Unlike one-size-fits-all mouthguards, the Hushd Avera is designed to mold to the user’s teeth at home in approximately two minutes—no trip to the dentist required.

The customizable mouthpiece is made from medical-grade, BPA-free, latex-free, and phthalate-free materials and includes three arches designed to accommodate different fits. Its adjustable design also allows users to fine-tune the positioning of their jaw rather than committing to a single setting, which makes it easier to find a comfortable fit.

Of course, not all snoring is created equal, and an anti-snoring mouthguard isn’t a universal fix—especially for those with underlying conditions like obstructive sleep apnea. But for those dealing with uncomplicated snoring, a customizable oral mouthpiece may be the ticket to a better night’s sleep. Plus, you can currently score 15 percent off the Hushd Avera for a limited time.

The Vatican says that “no further treatment is necessary” for Pope Leo XIV after he had a cancerous lobe removed from his right lung last week. Test results confirmed that “the tumor was a lung adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized,” Leo’s doctors said in a statement. Leo held his first general audience Wednesday since being diagnosed with lung cancer. “The first thing I want to say to you is thank you for the support and prayers,” he told the crowd in St. Peter’s Square, without specifically mentioning his health. “Thanks be to God for his generosity.” The 71-year-old pontiff successfully underwent surgery on Oct. 13 at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome. He began working from the hospital as he completed his week-long recovery. Leo made his first public appearance since the surgery on Sunday, announcing that he would slowly resume his usual duties as leader of the Catholic Church.

The United States has its first new national park in six years, and it sits on a sacred Apache site in southeastern Arizona. Chiricahua National Park features a mountainous landscape known for its balancing rocks, formed by volcanic activity 27 million years ago, and its rich Indigenous cultural roots. “Chiricahua’s towering rock spires, rich Apache heritage and remarkable biodiversity make it one of America’s most extraordinary landscapes,” Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said in a statement. President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed Chiricahua a national monument in 1924, stating that its volcanic spires were of scientific interest. Chiricahua, also called the “Wonderland of Rocks,” became the 64th national park on Tuesday when President Donald Trump signed the bipartisan legislation into law. The most recently declared national park before Chiricahua was New River Gorge National Park and Preserve in West Virginia, which Trump established in 2020. The site covers roughly 12,000 acres, making Chiricahua the fourth-smallest national park. Some advocates criticized the move, condemning the Trump administration for failing to properly care for existing parks.

The long-awaited Glee reboot has finally gotten the green light. The original show, which aired on Fox from 2009 to 2015, follows the members of a struggling high school show choir in Ohio. It won six Emmy Awards out of 40 nominations over its six-season run. Co-creator Ryan Murphy has been teasing a return to the halls of William McKinley High for years, telling Entertainment Tonight last month that he and fellow writers Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan had “just finished the script.” According to Variety, the new episodes will air on Hulu and Disney+. Details about the plot and cast haven’t been made public, but Murphy has said many original cast members were “very enthusiastic” about returning. Lea Michele, known for playing protagonist Rachel Berry, recently told E! News that she’d be happy to join a reboot. “I will follow Ryan wherever he goes,” she said. Another Glee star, Chris Colfer, was less enthusiastic, saying in a Bustle interview this month that the show would be “really hard” to execute after original cast member Naya Rivera’s death in 2020. Cast members Cory Monteith and Mark Salling have also died. “I don’t know, but hopefully I’ll have more information and I can actually think about it,” Colfer said.

Royals Stand United at State Dinner After Prince Harry’s Latest Stunt

King Charles lauded Prince William in a speech during a state banquet for the Sultan of Oman Tuesday night, while completely ignoring his other son, Harry. “There can be few happier symbols of success than a living relationship being passed from one generation to the next,” Charles said; he added that he is “delighted” with William and, when speaking of “successors,” made clear the distinction between his working royal heir and his non-working spare. He was speaking just hours after Harry took a jab at William in an interview with GQ by suggesting that, while he is keen for reconciliation, others “don’t want to work it out.” (As the inevitable headlines sprouted, a spokesman for the Sussexes said the comment was “absolutely not intended as a swipe at his brother” and was made “in a general context.”) Eight working members of the royal family attended the banquet, which was the first incoming state visit since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the U.K.—as private individuals, the couple do not take part in royal engagements. Nobody at Windsor Castle appeared to miss them.

Chemical Tank Explosion Triggers Emergency Evacuation Orders

The tank may still be explosive, authorities warned.

A chemical tank explosion forced hundreds of Toledo, Ohio, residents to flee their homes Tuesday night amid fears of toxic fumes. Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said a sheriff’s deputy suffered injuries while responding to the blast around 9:30 p.m. He provided no information about the deputy’s condition. Authorities said the tank contained glycidyl methacrylate, an industrial chemical that is toxic if ingested and can cause headaches, vomiting, and dizziness from overexposure. Officials ordered residents and businesses within a mile to evacuate late on Tuesday. More than 900 people lived inside that zone, and all had left by Wednesday morning, the mayor said. Residents beyond the evacuation zone but within a three-mile radius received shelter-in-place orders. The mayor said emergency crews and hazmat teams are not approaching the tank because of the risk of further explosions and planned to reassess conditions later Wednesday morning. Dense fog hindered visibility and delayed drone monitoring. “There is still concern that the tank is emitting this chemical and it has the potential within 12 hours of the incident to be explosive,” Kapszukiewicz said.

One person was hospitalized after an American Airlines plane blew two tires while landing at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on Tuesday afternoon, WGN-TV reported. AA Flight 41 from Barcelona was carrying 234 passengers and 11 crew members. One passenger told CBS News Chicago that he heard a “big boom,” “like nothing I’ve ever heard before on a landing.” First responders arrived on the scene, and passengers deplaned the Boeing 787 via stairs and were bused to the terminal. An American Airlines spokesperson told WGN that the 11-year-old aircraft was taken out of service for inspection. Fire officials said the person who was hospitalized is in good condition. “But in the end, it turned out well, nobody got hurt and, you know, just, glad to make it across the ocean,” the passenger told CBS. It’s at least the sixth time a plane has blown tires while landing at O’Hare since May, and the FAA has launched an investigation.

An NHL team’s charter flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a 19-year-old rising star suffered an alarming medical crisis shortly after takeoff. The Pittsburgh Penguins team plane was forced to turn back to Salt Lake City International Airport on Tuesday so medical personnel could treat forward Ben Kindel. Kindel, a top prospect selected 11th overall in the 2025 draft, was treated mid-flight before being rushed to the University of Utah Hospital. “The Pittsburgh Penguins team plane returned to the Salt Lake City International Airport today shortly after takeoff due to a medical episode involving forward Ben Kindel,” the team said in a statement. “Team physician, Dr. Dharmesh Vyas of UPMC, as well as the team’s medical staff were on board and immediately attended to Ben. An ambulance was waiting upon arrival, and he was taken to the University of Utah Hospital for further evaluation. Ben is conscious, alert and in stable condition.” The team added: “The health and safety of our players, as well as the privacy for their families, are our top priority. The team will provide further updates when appropriate.” Kindel recorded 17 goals and 35 points in 77 games during his 2025-26 rookie season. The Penguins lost 5-4 to the Utah Mammoth on Monday.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers star Amy Jo Johnson has revealed details of a frightening incident that happened while she was on a private plane with New Kids on the Block singer Donnie Wahlberg. “It was an eventful weekend. That’s for sure,” the 56-year-old actress posted on Instagram on Monday. It was a day after an aircraft she was on with Wahlberg skidded off the runway after the boy band’s show in Vegas. “Watching the incredible @donniewahlberg and his mates crush it in their last show in Vegas,” Johnson wrote. “And then surviving a very hairy plane situation. But we did. And I’m grateful and very happy to be alive!” she continued. The veteran pop band is performing its first Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live in Park MGM, titled “The Right Stuff.” Wahlberg also posted a video about the incident on Instagram on Sunday, saying in the caption, “It was me and my team/friends onboard the aircraft. It was a rather intense few moments.” He added in the accompanying video, “I’m just gonna tell you, these pilots saved our lives,” pointing to trucks and heavy equipment they missed, before hitting a fence. There were eight people on board the private plane at the time. No injuries were reported, Harry Reid International Airport said in a statement.
