But Continental's defense lawyer said they would appeal the decision and condemned it for being primarily patriotic. A lawyer for the family of Concorde pilot Christian Marty and a pilots union also criticized the decision, calling it "incomprehensible" and asked why Continental mechanics were blamed when French officials had known for decades that the Concorde had problems.
