Chelsea Handler tweeted her endorsement of Idaho’s Democratic candidate for governor, Paulette Jordan, on Wednesday with a photo mistaking the candidate for another Native American woman. “This is Paulette Jordan,” Handler wrote in the tweet, which has since been deleted. “She is progressive, she is for women, and she is Native American, and she is the way forward.” Handler’s tweet included a photo of herself not with Jordan, but with Deb Haaland, a New Mexico Democrat vying to become the first Native American woman in Congress. Jordan is a member of Idaho’s Coeur d’Alene tribe, while Haaland is a member of Laguna Pueblo. In another tweet posted four days ago, Handler mistakenly calls Jordan “our woman in the state of Nevada” (Jordan is running in Idaho). Handler has yet to comment on either blunder.
