China has put the final piece into position on what will be the world’s biggest radio telescope, which will be used to explore space and seek out extraterrestrial life. The Five Hundred Metre Aperture Spherical Telescope is cut out of the side of a mountain and is the size of 30 football fields. The massive telescope, which has taken five years to construct, is expected to be operational in September.
