China’s getting ready for a once-in-a-decade transfer of power within the Communist Party. More than 2,000 delegates will attend the week-long congress session, where they will choose a central committee to select the highest decision makers to the Standing Committee of the Politburo. Seven politicians are expected to step down, including President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao. The transfer of power will be "of great importance, when China is in a crucial stage of building a modern and prosperous society in all respects,” said a party spokesman.
