Chris Brown canceled his tour of Australia and New Zealand after months of speculation about whether his visa application would be approved due to his history of domestic violence. Ticketing agency Ticketek posted a statement online Wednesday announcing that Brown’s One Hell of a Nite tour, which was set to begin next week, had been canceled and those who bought tickets would receive refunds. The promoter said it remained hopeful he could reschedule the tour “in the near future.” Australia’s immigration department declined to say whether it had refused Brown’s visa. New Zealand immigration officials said Brown had withdrawn his application for a work visa before a decision was reached. Australia had earlier issued Brown a “notice of intention to consider refusal” over his domestic-violence conviction in 2009 with then-girlfriend Rihanna.
