New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announced his bid for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination Tuesday, in a speech at his old high school. He had been president of his Livingston High School class for three years. In his speech, Christie focused on how his New Jersey upbringing prepared him for this presidential bid. “This country needs to work together again, not against each other,” he said. “Both parties have failed this country.”
