The New Jersey governor’s political advisers are reportedly working to determine if they can move fast enough to mount a successful presidential campaign—with roughly 100 days before voting begins. Christie has not yet decided if he is running, but strategists are trying to determine the challenges associated with launching such a late campaign. Those challenges are not only raising money but also launching an effective strategy in the early-primary states. The governor's operatives—many of whom are veterans of Rudy Giuliani’s failed 2008 presidential bid—said no formal planning will begin until Christie decides if he is running for president. But one senior adviser said a campaign could be launched within 24 hours should Christie decide to run.
