Thursday in New York was just slightly cooler than July 4th.

Christmas weather broke records in the Northeast on Friday, with temperatures in New York’s Central Park reaching 66 degrees at 12:31 a.m. The previous record was 64 degrees, set in 1982. At noon Thursday, temperatures in New York were just slightly cooler than those on July 4th. The warm weather is expected to last through January.
