As a result of a stampede after a religious service in a stadium in Zimbabwe, eleven people were killed on Friday. Four people died on the spot at the stadium, while seven others were pronounced dead when they arrived at the hospital. They were attending a service by the Pentecostal preacher Walter Magaya along with thousands of others. Magaya claims to be able to perform miracles and heal people. Some reports have blamed the stampede on police, saying they blocked some of the stadium exits and then fired tear gas on people fighting to get out of the only one left open.
