Dinner table discussions must be getting awkward at the McCain residence. Cindy McCain, the wife of Sen. John McCain (R), lent her celebrity to a video about bullying and suicides among gay youth. In her segment, McCain blasted the Pentagon’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Policy,” suggesting that the policy teaches bullies that attacking gays is acceptable, and saying, “Our government treats the LGBT community like second class citizens, why shouldn't they?” Sen. John McCain, meanwhile, is a key defender of the policy, and a leader in the Senate effort to prevent its repeal.
