John Lewis (D-GA) has been hospitalized for an undisclosed illness and is said to be under “routine observation.” Lewis’ spokeswoman, Brenda Jones, said the congressman is expected to be released Sunday. Sources cited by WSB-TV said Lewis, 78, fell ill on a flight to Atlanta on Saturday. No further details were available. Lewis, a driving force in the civil rights movement who marched alongside Martin Luther King Jr., has represented Georgia’ 5th Congressional District since 1986.
