Former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson will become the highest-paid TV-show presenter in the U.K. with his new Amazon Prime show. Clarkson, who was fired by the BBC after he punched a producer in an argument over a steak dinner, will reportedly make nearly £30 million (or about $46 million) with the new show over three years. Amazon is reportedly planning to spend a total of some £160 million on 36 episodes. The deals for producer Andy Wilman and Clarkson’s co-stars Richard Hammond and James May are said to be “not far behind.”
