Donors to the Clinton Foundation made up a disproportionate number of nominees for a prestigious state department award during Hillary Clinton's tenure. Among the winners of the Awards for Corporate Excellence the percentage of donors was even higher. In total, 22 of 37 nominees gave money to the foundation, as did six out of the eight winners. According to the State Department's Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs spokesperson, Kerry Humphrey, the award honors companies for environmental and human rights work and winners are chosen by "senior representatives" of multiple agencies.
