Hillary Clinton called out Donald Trump for his treatment of women at the first presidential debate Monday night, pointing out his track record of demeaning remarks. “He tried to switch from ‘looks’ to ‘stamina,’ but this is a man who has called women ‘pigs, slobs, and dogs,’” Clinton said. “Someone who has said that pregnancy is an inconvenience to employers, someone who has said women don’t deserve equal pay as long as they do as good a job as men.” Trump reacted incredulously, interjecting with, “I never said that” about the pregnancy issue. Meanwhile, video circulated online of Trump saying just that in a 2004 interview. “It’s a wonderful thing for the woman, it’s a wonderful thing for the husband, it’s certainly an inconvenience for a business. Whether people want to say that or not, the fact is it’s an inconvenience for a person who’s running a business,” Trump told NBC in 2004.
