Former President Bill Clinton stepped down from his position as "honorary chancellor" at Laureate International Universities, a part of Laureate Education Inc., on Friday. Initally, the company as well as Clinton's staff said his contract had expired but conservative author Peter Schweizer, writer of a forthcoming book on the Clintons' financial dealings, suggests otherwise. A chapter from the book, Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich, obtained by Bloomberg Politics, describes a troublesome relationshipo between the educational organization and State Department business.
