Coach Jim Harbaugh to Join Michigan

Jim Harbaugh is expected to join the University of Michigan as its head coach. Insiders say Harbaugh's alma mater will officially announce the big hire on Tuesday but have already notified the university's biggest boosters. Early reports say Harbaugh was offered at least $48 million for a six-year deal. The acclaimed NFL coach officially split with the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday after a four-year tenure that included three NFC title game appearances and a trip to the Super Bowl. Although Harbaugh’s first three seasons with the 49ers saw strong runs in the playoffs, the team failed to nab even a wild-card spot this year.
