Coca-Cola announced on Monday that it will be tackling obesity in a new ad campaign that will air during the three 24-hour news networks’ highest-rated shows. But rather than talk about the impact of soda on health, the ad instead highlights Coca-Cola’s efforts over the past few years of providing drinks with fewer calories and notes that weight gain is associated with any sugar drink, not just soda. Recent research has not been so kind to soda and the city of Cambridge, Mass., has suggested it will follow New York in banning large sodas.
