The governments of Colombia and St. Lucia have each issued orders to bar entry to travelers coming from West African countries affected by Ebola. Colombia will not allow anyone in who has gone to the five countries (Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and Senegal) in the previous four weeks, while St. Lucia banned all visitors from Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. The island nation’s prime minister said that St. Lucia is too poor and small “to manage any crisis that lands on our doorstep, any crisis of that kind.” In addition, St. Lucia will require a recent medical certificate for passengers from Nigeria. Meanwhile UN peacekeeping troops in Haiti will no longer have a rotation from African countries.
