Is this what the political environment has come to? Days before the Arizona shooting, John Troy Davis from Colorado threatened gun violence and other attacks on U.S. Senator Michael Bennet's staff members. The FBI says the 44-year-old suspect was known among Bennet's staff for making frequent complaint calls about his Social Security benefits. Last Thursday, his complaints turned into alarming threats as he told one staffer he was schizophrenic and planned "to come down there and shoot you all." In another call, he added that he would "set fire to the perimeter" and "may go to terrorism," according to the FBI. Davis is charged with one count of assault and a series of threats to three staffers in Sen. Bennet's Denver office, and will remain in custody until his next court date on Thursday.
