Federal authorities have arrested a Colorado teenager trying to board a flight out of Denver with the goal of meeting with ISIS. Nineteen-year-old Shannon Maureen Conley was charged with providing material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization. A federal criminal complaint states that from September 7, 2013 to April 8, 2014, Conley attempted to help and support ISIS. Conley first began being investigated after members of the Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada, Colorado noticed her taking notes. The federal affidavit states that Conley “repeatedly referred to U.S. military bases as 'targets.’” Conley also told the FBI she joined the U.S Army Explorers to gain training that would help her wage jihad overseas.
