Conservative columnist and former editorial page editor of The Washington Times Tony Blankley died Sunday. The 63-year-old suffered from stomach cancer. Blankely was the press secretary and adviser to GOP candidate Newt Gingrich from 1990 to 1997. He also had many positions in the Reagan administration. Born in London, Blankley acted on TV’s Lassie, among other shows, and was in movies with Humphrey Bogart. More recently, he served as a regular commentator on the politics show The McLaughlin Group.
