FBI director James Comey refused to discuss whether the agency is probing Donald Trump’s connections to the Russian government during a private meeting Friday with members of Congress. The meeting was meant to brief lawmakers on the FBI’s intelligence regarding the Russian interference in the 2016 election—with the intention to benefit Trump’s candidacy—but multiple people present for the conversation said the top cop angered many members of Congress with his lack of candor.
