Rep. Allen West's claim that 78-81 House Democrats are actually members of the Communist Party is "an absurd way to cast a shadow over his colleagues," says the National Communist Party's vice chairman. "It's kind of a sad ploy." He also said it was undemocratic of West to use "communist" derogatorily. "I didn't know that being a Communist in Congress was off-limits or out of bounds," he said.
