A Frenchman known on the web as the “OxyMonster” was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Tuesday for online drug trafficking, CBS News reports. Gal Vallerius, 36, was apprehended in Georgia while he was traveling to the World Beard and Mustache Championships in Austin, Texas, from Paris. Vallerius pleaded guilty in June to “drug conspiracy and money laundering convictions” related to the online illicit marketplace Dream Market. He allegedly sold and orchestrated sales of “cocaine, heroin, Ritalin, methamphetamine, oxycodone and fentanyl.” Vallerius reportedly has a “long brownish-red beard” and entered the “full-beard category” in the Austin competition. According to his attorney, he may serve some of his prison sentence in Great Britain, Israel, and France, as he is a citizen of all three nations.
