When Conan goes off the air, his monologues will be missed, but maybe not for long: According to The New York Times, Conan O’Brien’s settlement with NBC will allow him to be back on the air in September, if not sooner. The total settlement is expected to be about $40 million, though not all of that goes to Conan—some is for his staffers. All that remains before Conan is free is some legal finagling as well as the question of how Tonight Show staffers without separate contracts will receive their severance.
