Jerome Corsi, a conspiracy theorist and far-right author with ties to former Trump adviser Roger Stone, says he is in talks on a potential plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, the Associated Press reports. Corsi confirmed the negotiations to the AP on Friday but declined to provide any further details. He said last week that he expected to face charges for lying to federal investigators. Corsi was questioned as part of Mueller’s ongoing Russia investigation in connection with Stone, who was under scrutiny for his dealings with Wikileaks. Investigators have spent months probing whether Stone coordinated with Wikileaks to have the group release hacked Democratic emails ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
