Sean M. Groubert, a former South Carolina state trooper, has been arrested for shooting an unarmed driver this month. The officer was fired and then charged Wednesday with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Groubert was caught on video shooting Levar Edward Jones during a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation on September 4. On the video, Groubert can be heard asking Jones for his license, and as Jones reaches to get it, the Groubert points his gun shouting "Get out of the car!" and then fires four shots at Jones, one of which hit him in the hip.
