Just a day after Robert Durst’s arrest, the real-estate scion appeared on HBO appearing to confess his role in the deaths of his wife, longtime friend, and neighbor. On Sunday’s final episode of the documentary series The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, Durst whispered to himself in a moment picked up on microphone: “What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course.” Durst was arrested in New Orleans on Saturday on an extradition warrant out of Los Angeles and faces murder charges in the death of his longtime friend Susan Berman, who was killed execution-style in 2000. He is also suspected in the death of his wife, who disappeared in 1982, and he was acquitted for shooting and dismembering a Texas neighbor in 2001. On Monday morning, The Jinx director Andrew Jarecki told CBS This Morning that while Durst’s arrest was not timed with the finale, he had turned over the recording to authorities many months prior. Jarecki had discovered Durst’s seeming confession almost two years after the interview.
