The Chicago Trib says the account differs from the video
Chicago police recently released an account of the death of Laquan McDonald, and their report of the controversial incident is significantly different from the dash-cam video of McDonald's last moments, according to the Chicago Tribune. The report, which compiles police officers' versions of what happened that night in October 2014, says that Jason Van Dyke, the officer who killed the 17-year-old McDonald, believed that the teenager was going to attack him. The video, however, shows McDonald walking away and Van Dyke shooting him from his left side.
