A funeral was held Saturday for slain NYPD officer Rafael Ramos, one of two officers shot to death in their patrol car last weekend. Thousands of officers gathered to mourn in the streets outside Christ Tabernacle church in Queens, the church Ramos attended regularly. Vice President Joe Biden and New York City mayor Bill de Blasio both spoke during the funeral. Some officers watching the speeches on screens outside the church, however, took issue with de Blasio’s presence at the funeral and turned their backs while he talked, ostensibly in protest for what they see as the mayor’s lack of support in the days after a grand jury failed to indict the NYPD officer who killed Eric Garner.
