Is it perhaps just a gambit to get attention? First Haaretz and now CBS New York have run vaguely sourced items saying that the planners of the mosque in downtown Manhattan are open to moving it to a site further from Ground Zero. Talks of a move heated up on Tuesday when New York Governor David Paterson said he was looking to meet with the planners of the mosque later this week. However, the Cordoba Initiative issued a statement on Tuesday saying, “Cordoba Initiative and Park 51 are committed to maintaining the current planned location for the Community Center.”
