Cormac McCarthy won the PEN/ Saul Bellow Lifetime Achievement Award on Monday night, at the culmination of the organization’s week-long literary festival. The author of The Road and All the Pretty Horses walked away with $25,000 in prize money. Other winners included Steve Coll, for his work The Bin Ladens, and Nobel Laureate Nadine Gordimer.
