Country Star Mindy McCready Dies

Troubled country singer Mindy McCready, who once appeared on Celebrity Rehab and had publicly struggled with addiction and mental illness, was found dead in her home on Sunday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She was 37. Just one month ago, McCready’s boyfriend—and father to her 10-month-old son—also died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She had a decade-long affair with star pitcher Roger Clemens, and in 2005, her tumultuous relationship with Tim McKnight led to his arrest for allegedly beating and choking her. By the end of the following year, she faced a variety of her own charges—and allegedly tried to take her own three times before succeeding. She leaves behind two children: six-year-old Zander and 10-month-old Zayne.
