Couple Becomes World’s Oldest Newlyweds

A British couple—102-year-old George Kirby and 91-year-old Doreen Luckie—are set to become the world’s oldest ever newlyweds when they marry on June 13. The two have been together for 27 years, “living in sin” before deciding to tie the knot. “I suppose it’s about time, really. I definitely don’t feel my age—Doreen keeps me young,” Kirby told ITV News. “I didn’t get down on one knee, because I don’t think I would have been able to get back up.” The two met in 1988 through an organization to find friends for mature people.
