Barry Sim, his wife Izzy, and their baby were supposed to be on the flight that was shot down over Ukraine. They had changed flights at the last minute. "We couldn't get both on the flight this morning, so we changed it to the KLM one (scheduled to fly later the same day)," he said. "I just feel sorry for all the families." Many of those on board the flight were headed to an AIDS conference in Melbourne, Australia, including Glenn Thomas, a spokesperson for the World Health Organization, and AIDS researcher Joep Lange.
