Couric Sticking With CBS Until 2011

As Piers Morgan is poised to slide into Larry King’s seat on CNN, media watchers want to know what happened to Katie Couric. The CBS News host was once thought the perfect candidate to follow King, and the jump to CNN was seen as the easiest possible landing from her uneasy perch at CBS. Now a source close to Couric tells The New York Times that there’s “virtually no scenario” which could pry Couric from CBS until 2011. As always, there’s murmuring about a possible merger of the CBS and CNN newsrooms. If that happens, maybe they can share Couric’s talents.
