Mississippi’s lone abortion clinic was saved from closure by the state—thanks to a last-minute federal appeals court ruling Tuesday. A three-judge panel struck down a law that required physicians at the clinic to apply for admittance privileges at a local hospital, ruling that Roe v. Wade protects women’s right to access abortion. Mississippi cannot tranfer that obligation to neighboring states, as attorneys for the state had argued.
