Cowell Recruits Abdul for X Factor

Also speaking with British installment's Cheryl Cole.

Much like Ryan Seacrest without copious amount of hair gel, American Idol judge Simon Cowell seemingly cannot do his job without his former costar Paula Abdul, who is now reportedly talking to about becoming a judge on his next project, The X Factor. After his recent announcement to leave Idol behind once this season wraps and bring the popular U.K. series to America, Cowell is now searching for judges to join him when the series launches on Fox in fall 2011. In addition to Abdul, Cowell is also allegedly in discussion with his current costar on the British version of The X Factor, Cheryl Cole. As Cole knows, judges on The X Factor are even more crucial than on Idol since each mentors a group of competing singers and essentially becomes a part of the contest, as opposed to sitting behind a glossy table, sipping on large cups of Coca-Cola.
