A French court on Tuesday launched a criminal investigation into the magazine Closer, which published topless photographs of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge last week. The court in Nanterre, near Paris, said the magazine has 24 hours to hand over the photos and banned further publication of the photos. The royal couple has filed a lawsuit against the magazine, and the palace called the photos a “grotesque” invasion of privacy. Meanwhile the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continued their tour of Southern Asia on Monday, where they were greeted by topless tribeswomen in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. Catherine laughed when the tribeswomen presented her with a nude female sculpture.
