Crocs Lurk in Australia Floods

Residents told to keep out of waters.

It’s not easy to stay out of the water when your town will be flooded for weeks, but that’s exactly what Australian officials are telling many of the Outback’s flood victims. Aside from floating detritus brought on by the heavy rains, crocodiles and water snakes are said to be lurking in the flooded water, and have already been spotted. "We do not think they are a risk to public safety if people keep out of the waters, but if people do enter the waters their safety cannot be guaranteed," said Rockhampton Mayor Brad Carter.
