A cruise passenger has died after falling down a mountainside, having lost the trail on a hike in Juneau, Alaska. Anchorage Daily News reports that 36-year-old Britain Pool died from injuries sustained in the fall, while a second man suffered minor injuries but did not fall as far. Alaska State Troopers were able to locate the body of the Texas man using a drone. KTUU reported his remains have been taken to the state medical examiner’s office, and his next of kin has been notified. Troopers received a 911 call from a man who said they’d followed a path that had turned out not to be the trail. The incident occurred near an aerial tramway that takes cruise passengers 1,800 feet up from their ships to the Mount Roberts Trail above the Alaskan capital. Spokesperson Tess Williams said it was dark, with dense fog and rain at the time of the incident.
