Andrew Cuomo announced a ban on state employees’ nonessential travel to North Carolina, following the latter state’s new law that forbids its municipalities from enacting nondiscrimination measures. “In New York, we believe that all people—regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation—deserve the same rights and protections under the law,” Cuomo said.
